Patient :A friend of mine here in Bangladesh has a urinary meatus caruncle. She feels it started after her last child's birth when a nurse yanked out her catheter without deflating it. She's poor and a widow. She has 2 handicapped children at home, so to get away, take a loan, and go through the inconvenience and pain of surgery was a hassle. But then it came back. After the 2nd surgery it was back within a year. So she is adamant no more surgery. However she is becoming edematous & my fear is she will die of uremic poisoning. Are there any ways to treat a caruncle besides surgery?
