Acute back pain with disc protrusion

Patient

Q: I had an accident 6 months ago and have been suffering with back pain since. I had an mri which showed a disc protrusion. At the time i was suffering a lot of 'electric shock' pains down one side as well as acute pain in the centre of my back which felt like 2 bones rubbing together. I was put on lyrica. This seemed to help with the electric pain but not the pain in the middle of my lower spine.i keep telling my doctor and he keeps upping my dose of lyrica. Im now on 75mg three times a day. The electric pains are almost gone but the acute localised pain isnt improving. It can get unbearable at times. Please help!
