Advice for my infant son flying overseas

Patient

Q: Hello! I have a 13 month old son who is just recovering from a Staph infection and a rotavirus. It's been a week since he was first diagnosed, but he's almost finished with the antibiotics. My wife, son, and I are planning on flying from Europe across the ocean to the USA in three weeks time. Would it be dangerous for my child to fly a long distance three weeks removed from his illness? Is there a substantial risk involved?
