Patient :So for 5 and a half months now I thought I had contracted HSV2. I had sex with a new partner (with a condom), and 4 days later I had some tinglyness around my crotch area and I had a pimple like bump on the head of my penis and a tiny red dot on my shaft. I also experienced some lethargy during this week (may have been stress related from my initial reaction.) In the past 5 months since then I have had a single red dot appear on my shaft on two separate occasions only to be gone after 3-5 days. I also have had random red bumps on my buttocks in the 2 month period after what I thought was my original contraction. The buttocks bumps and my other symptoms have not really resembled any examples I have seen online of herpes sores(one example I saw online slightly resembled my symptoms.) Anyway, I finally took the IGG test and STD panel tests (5 months after first symptoms) and all results came back negative. I had thoroughly convinced myself that I had herpes. Now I'm optimistic that it may have been something else but I'm not sure. I'm going to get another round of STD and herpes tests done, but should I think I'm in the clear if everything comes back negative again?
