Anemia w elevated SED Rate and CRP

Patient

Q: 59 yo healthy w male. Routine labs reveal iron deficiency anemia and inflammation. PCP ran additional labs giving more questions than answers. RBC, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit low, platelets and RDW elevated. CRP 50.3 and SED rate 94. Went to a hematologist, oncologist today and he was not particularly concerned about the inflammation which made PCP furious as he feels these labs are indicators of early disease process. PCP orderd CT Scan abdomen and chest and Hematologist suggests endoscopy and colonoscopy to try to determine source of blood loss. Only symptom is that patient (my husband) says his ribcage hurts. He says it feels like muscle pain and is uncomfortable when he coughs, breathes deep, etc. This pain comes and goes. Who or where do we turn next?
