Ankle fracture tibia and fibula broken.

Patient : I had an ankle fracture almost 4 months ago, i broke my tibia and fibula. I was on a splint for about 2 months after that my doctor said I was able to put weight on it as much as I can tolerate the pain. Now i pretty much do everything normal but i still have pain on my feet, my ankle gets swollen at the end of the day. If I try to balance my weight between my two feet it still hurts and my leg is kind of sore. Im just worried because Im about to be four months from my surgery and i still limp and it still hurts. Is that normal or it may be that im forcing myself too much? Does people get fully recovered from this? I dont smoke or drink.
