Another acne dilemma.

Patient : I eat healthy and i always wash my face with a gentle cleanser then a salicylic acid scrub once in a while, and I take vitamin supplements. I also have Duac, a prescription gel for my acne. I'm almost 18, so is it just hormones? Maybe washing my face too much? I usually cover up acne scars with make-up and usually it doesn't seem to affect it but sometimes I'll just get a major breakout in a particular place. I don't know what else I can do? It's so frustrating. Should I try birth control to help?
