Are implants used to treat fractures suppose to move?

Patient: Can a surgical plate move within a forearm if the forearm vibrates? And also do the metal plates go loose and make vibrating noises inside forearm when you move or rotate the forearm?

Doctor: The plates used in surgery to treat fractures are not suppose to move. They are there to stabilize the fracture so that it can heal adequately. If you think the plate placed in your forearm is moving you should see your orthopedic surgeon.
