Can I use the sauna or steam room if I have a fever?

Patient: Is it a bad idea to go to the sauna or steam room if I have a fever?

Symptoms: Fever increases at night, fatigue

Doctor: Fever is a condition where body temperature is high. Measures must be taken to reduce temperature like cold moping, cooler room temperature, antipyrogenic medications, etc. Steam bath or hot water bath increases body temperature, so can not be recommended during fever. Instead lukewarm water bath is preferred during fever and summers.
