Atypical Antipsychotic Medications

Q: I was on Risperidone for a little over a year as a teenager, which I then discontinued and I have now been off it for 7 years. I have just found out about one of the possible side effects - Tardive Dyskinesia and how it can affect people on the drug. I do not have Tardive Dyskinesia, but I was worried about the possibility of getting it in the future, even off the drug. Is it possible to develop Tardive Dyskinesia even after stopping the drug that can cause it?
