Aura linked with blindness?

Patient

Q: Hi, I am 16 and I've been suffering "classic" migraines with aura for about 4 years now. I get them rarely usually once or twice a year, but they're always severe and extremely traumatic for me. The worst part by far in my case is the visual symptoms of the aura. I have anxiety so the aura really makes me panic. I also suffer from daily visual symptoms like light sensitivity and shimmering "lights" and "stars" that change in color. My question that keeps bothering me is: is it possible that I could permanently go blind from these symptoms? Could a migraine aura cause permanent blindness in my case? Or should it usually be temporary?
Blindness is my biggest fear.
- thanks
