Back hurts when laying down or standing for too long
Patient :I'm 16 and I have scoliosis. I have two curves in my back, one up top and one down bottom, the bottom one being at 16 degrees. One of my shoulders is also higher than the other if that helps anything. For a long time now, whenever I lay down, my back hurts. It feels like there's a lot of pressure being applied and it's enough to make me flinch sometimes. It happens wherever I lay down and in whatever position. The pain lasts for about 10-20 seconds before subsiding. Also, whenever I stand fir too long, sometimes even just a few minutes, my lower back hurts as well. I had a rehearsal with an elderly choir last night and everyone there could stand for way longer than I could. I've also noticed lately that If i shift my weight onto one side while I'm standing and I remain like that for too long, my hip will start to hurt very bad. I don't know what to do. I've been to the doctor's a lot recently because my immune system is so bad so I don't want to annoy them by going back so soon. I was just there on Thursday. Thoughts?
