Back injury questions

Patient

Q: I hurt my back a few years ago, the pain was really bad for a few months and then it stopped. About a year afterwards I joined the Army, throughout the next 2 years i've had a ton of strain on my back sometimes for hours. The pain got worse, but I got used to it. Recently it's gotten to a point to where I can't bend my neck that far, any decent amount of pressure on my back will cause my arms to go numb, or cause a tingling feeling in my hands/wrists. There is always constant discomfort in my spine, and gets worse throughout the day. Any idea what this could be? before I go get it checked out. The pain has been going on for 2-3 years.
