Flax seed oil is rich in omega 3 fatty acids ie alpha linoleic acid which has been proven to protect against heart disease, inflamatorry bowel disease as well as arthritis. It helps balance the cholesterol and thus protects against high blood cholesterol levels and high blood pressure.
