Birth Control & Pregnancy

Patient

Q: Hi, I have been using the NuvaRing for a couple of years now, about 2-3 months ago I stopped using it and recently got back on the NuvaRing. I inserted the Ring in on Saturday 14th March and my partner and I had unprotected sex 1-2 hours of it being inserted, I kept it in for 3 weeks and took it out on Saturday 4th April at around the same time I had put it in. I still haven't got my period yet and I need to put the Ring back in tomorrow (Saturday). I took a pregnancy test this morning and came back Negative. I am really unsure of what to do next. Could I be pregnant? Is my period late due to the Hormones in the ring and being only just started using it again? Please help. Thank-You.
