BLOOD PRESSURE HIGH/ LOW

Patient: BP 3 HRS. AFTER SUPPER 177/77. BP AT 9:30 AM 167/77 SYSTOLIC HIGH, DIASTOLIS LOW WHY WHAT DOES THIS INDICATE. THANX ED

 

 

Symptoms: LACK OFENERGY LAST FEW WEEKS.

 

 

Doctor: Thanks for consulting us. The difference between Systolic and Diastolic pressures is called Pulse pressure. Normally it should be around 40. If the difference in more, as seen in your case, it indicates high output state. Some of the causes are AV fistula, Aortic dissection, Aortic regurgitation, Thyrotoxicosis, raised Intracranial pressure, etc. Consult your Cardiologist for further work up and treatment.
