Blood test result

Patient

Q: My husband just had a blood test and the "total protein" showed abnormal. The given normal range is 6.4-8.2, while his value is 8.6. Is that something serious? He was a bit ill on the day he had the blood test (might be flu or cold) and had a minor fever later that day. Might that be the reason? And his Eosinophil % showed 6 (normal 0-5). He does have allergy and had asthma when he was young. He had about 5 lbs weight loss the past two months but we just had our newborn baby in December and he was super busy taking care of me and the baby too...I am very concerned and would love to hear your advice. Thank you.
