Bm's, periods, and cysts

Patient

Q: I have had an ovarian cyst on left ovary off and on for fourteen years. They have attempted to remove the cyst a couple of different times because of the pain it causes. When they went to remove it, it was gone. Last year it got big enough they thought it was pinching nerves and causing lower back, hip and knee pain. Now I am not having regular bowel movements. When they do move, it is soft, not hard, and I am so full of bm I am often nausus. My period was supposed to start a week ago. I have had light vaginal bleeding overnight twice, both times after a bowel movement. It stops by morning. I am in the middle of trying to help my step daughter get off meth and get her children back and really do not have time for surgery right now. Am I in any major danger by putting off having this cyst checked out again immediately? I am going to be 43 in a month and am otherwise healthy.
