Can Chlamydia Be Transmitted By Sharing A Bath

Patient

Q: I was recently diagnosed with chlamydia, and had shared a bath with my infant son shortly before... could he have contracted it that way? should i test him as well?

Symptoms:  None
Doctor

A:   Thank you for writing to us.

Infection may be spread by any form of contact that involves body fluids and hence sharing a bath may, although not as likely, spread the disease. Get him examined by a Pediatrician and find out if testing is necessary.

Hope this helps.
