Can I take a birth control pill with nexplanon?

Patient

Q: Can I take a birth control pill with nexplanon? when I had the birth control put in my arm they said it was okay to take the pillbut I want to make sure if it's OK to continue taking it

Doctor

A:   Thank you for writing to us.

If you are on an implant, you do not need to take birth control pills again. This is not an additive effect but will cause side effects and I would not recommend it. Talk to your Gynecologist to see if they confirm. All the best.

Hope this helps you.
