Can I take both vitamin and Iron supplements together?

Patient: I AM not yet pregnantI am taking, prenatal plus one tab dialy my hemoglobin level is 10 then the doctore prescribed for me ferrus sulfate twis dialy .Can I took these tow medicin togther or using the prenatal vit enough? thanks

Doctor: You may take prenatal vitamins as well as ferrous sulfate medications together. However the prenatal vitamins contain en ough iron, so you may not require additional ferrous sulfate supplement. As your hemoglobin level is low, you need to continue with the prenatal vitamins, as well as supplement your diet with iron rich foods like date, fig, spinach, cereals, grains, eggs, milk, meat, liver and beans.
