Can I take Zyban (bupropion) and Concerta (methylphenidate) together

Patient

Q: I am takeing Concerta once a day for ADD ADHD and i am also a smoker, and i got some ZYBAN but i do not know if i should take it while i am on concerta what could happen if i do

Doctor

A:   The use of Zyban (bupropion) and Concerta (methylphenidate) is associated with and increased risk of seizures and I would not recommend taking these two together. I would advise that you consult your doctor or a pharmacist before taking any medication along with Concerta. I hope this helps, take care.
