Can my milk do something to baby if I have flu

Patient: Can my milk do something to the baby when I got the flu

Doctor: Thanks for your query. When the mother is having flu, cold etc she can safely nurse the baby, the breast milk will not have any harmful effect to the baby. Only thing suggestible is to cover the nose and mouth of the mother such that the inoculum (droplets of moisture with virus ) does not come in contact with the baby by means of sneezing.Hope that answers your query. Get well soon.
