Can Rh negative cause a false negative pregnancy test result?
Patient : My blood type is O negative. With my first child, I did not get a positive reading until I was 16 weeks; with my second child, I was 10 weeks; and with my third child, I was 12 and a half weeks. At the moment, I am 33 days late for menstruation, and I am still getting negative results on pregnancy tests. When it comes to my period, it is a 30 day cycle, very rarely irregular. I have not been on birth control for over a year. The only pharmaceuticals I use are albuterol, Excedrin Migraine and Ibuprofen. I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't use illegal substances. I admit that I am overweight, but have been trying to lose weight over the past year (daily yoga, walking, changing diet to include more vegetables and less junk food). I am not bulimic, and I do not have any other health issues. In short, I do not know why I would consistently receive false negatives on a pregnancy test, nor do I know any other reason why my period would be so late. So, I was wondering if a negative Rh can cause false negative readings on store bought pregnancy tests?
