Can you be diagnosed with mono more than once?

Patient

Q: Can you be diagnosed with mono more than once?

Doctor

A:   Thank you for writing to us.

Yes, you can get a reinfection of EBV. It is possible as an infection of Mono does not completely cure the person or possibly make you immune to the disease.

It is possible easily with another infection. Do not worry and most of the time, Paracetamol and lots of water will help you recover.

Hope this helps you. All the best.
