Can you eat food cooked with wine during pregnancy?

Patient: When pregnant can you eat food cooked with wine?

Doctor: It is recommended to avoid alcohol in any form during pregnancy to prevent any malformation of the unborn baby. Occasion ally intake of small amounts of wine may not have significant effects on your baby, but there is always a risk associated with any amounts of alcohol intake. Thus use of minor quantities of wine in food, occasionally may not have any detrimental effects on your baby.
