Can’t raise my arm after shoulder surgery

Patient: I had surgery on right shoulder on 12-30-10to remove bone spurs. I wasn’t able to start physical therapy until 18 days after. Now I cant raise my arm at all and its my dominant arm. Any suggestions?

Doctor: I suspect your shoulder has become ‘frozen’ due to inactivity following surgery and delayed physical therapy. Mobility i n your shoulder should return with continued physical therapy. If your range of motion does not return it suggest some other complication of surgery such as excessive scarring and you will need to see you orthopedic surgeon diagnose and treat the problem.
