Patient : My wife recently entered the hospital for surgery to open a blocked carotid artery. The original scans have shown a 90% blockage on one side. Just 2 days before the surgery was scheduled, new test results show this artery is now 100% blocked and they are saying the surgery cant be done. My question is why would they not do the surgery(too much risk?) and what can be done now?
