Cervical Incompetence or Complication of Infection?

Patient : My first pregnancy was pretty normal, no big events until my appendix ruptured at 34 weeks, had surgery then went into labor a few days later. He was fine. My second pregnancy I found out at 13-14 weeks at my first appointment that I had chlamydia and that my cervix was a little short. Long story short by 23 weeks I was on hospital bedrest with my cervix at 1cm and funneling, no dilation. I had my daughter at 25w6d. She is perfectly healthy now. My question is could the chlamydial infection not being caught until 2nd trimester have caused softening and weakening of my cervix or is it true cervical incompetence even though I previosly had no issue with this?
