Cervical Spine Pain

Patient : I am 16. My doctor told me I have muscle spasms and pinched nerves in my right and left cervical spine. He also said the spasms are so large that its causing my spine to be straighter than it should be. (I got this from a field hockey game two years ago when my head was kicked backwards like whiplash) I went to physical therapy for about a year and I have been taking two Alieve almost every day since October. Around this October, I felt numbness in my arms and down to my legs. The doctor gave me muscle relaxers and they helped for a while. Now the pain and numbness are back. (Plus I get shooting pains down my legs sometimes but there is usually throbbing in my neck and back) I feel like the physical therapy and medicine doesn't work anymore. I know my doctor said something about surgery but this is my recruiting year for lacrosse and I have to play. This is also the reason I haven't gone back to the doctor since my medicine stopped working. Could you tell me what to do? Thank you!
