Cheaper pain pills and pain managment

Patient : I had discititis and ended up getting a spinal abscess which in turn caused me to get a three part spinal fusion with cadaver bone and self rib graft this was one year ago I'm still in a lot of pain doctor prescribes hydrocodone I took that when I was younger and drank it shutdown my liver doctor told me never to take it again doctor refuses to change to something else so I switched doctors I don't have insurance and every pain pills prescribed are horribly expensive I read dilaudid is cheapest next to hydro and weaker than the fentanyl patch I'm on and better for backs but the doctor won't change because he said dilaudid is abused more so is there something for pain that's works but not so expensive
