Patient: Child with dx of “borderline diabetes”
Symptoms: 10 yr/old female. not overweight, very active. her father is juvenile diabetic (dx at age 11). I noticed she was very hungry ALL the time and craved sugars. She also c/o stomachaches more often. I decided to perform FBS on her via finger stick and she runs 114-127 every morning . Her RBS are 114-172. Her Pediatrician is referring her to an endocrinologist.
Should I be concerned?
Doctor: Hiborderline diabetes is treated with exercise and diet control only. but unfortunately, in juvenile diabetes, it is v ery difficult to prevent.but regular sugar checkup is mustregards
