Compartment Syndrome- Pain After Surgery

Patient

Q: Hello,

I have been playing competitive soccer for the past 5 years and practice 4-5 times a week. I was diagnosed with compartment syndrome in December of 2011. I had a fasciotomy on both legs to treat my compartment syndrome on January 22, 2012. It's now been a month after surgery and have started jogging a tiny bit a couple days ago. I went outside today to play soccer and run. As I was running, my calf muscles tightened up and caused me stop and slow down. The calf muscles felt hard as a rock. Is this normal? What can I do to treat this?

Thank You
