Continuous Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding

Patient : I have had continuous light to moderately heavy vaginal bleeding for 3 months. I went to get a pap smear and my doctor said I had blood in my cervix but didn't go into further details on why I would have blood in my cervix. I have not been on birth control or have I ever taken birth control so that is not the problem. I had a period in January that didn't last long but a day or so after I noticed I was bleeding again. But the bleeding hasn't stopped since then. I'm not pregnant because I have had a serum pregnancy test. Now and then I do get a little cramping but nothing too painful. I also tend to have some diarrhea. My doctor also said I had swollen thyroids but I don't think that would have anything to do with my bleeding. I just want to know what it could be and how it could be treated ?
