Could having sex after period cause bleeding and pain

Patient: Could having sex after period cause bleeding and pain

Doctor: Hello,Thanks for the query.Yes, if sex is performed on the very next day of stopping of cycles, some amount of col lected blood can come out causing bleeding. But, if there is bleeding after 2 or 3 days after periods, then it should be investigated. See a gynecologist, in that case, to rule out cervical inflammations and hormonal disturbances. A pap smear investigation would help.Hope this helped.Regards
