Patient : My cousin has been in the hospital since New Years day. When she went in she was having stomach pain and throwing up. The Dr.'s said they found copper in her liver, something about the bile, but came to the conclusion that it was her gall bladder. They did the surgery to remove the gall bladder. They have sent her home 5 times, but she always ends up back at the hospital the next day; still throwing up and in pain. Dr.'s say that she has gastroperesis, but she is not diabetic. She has lost over 20 lbs because she can't eat. They have her on a light liquid diet and have to give her pain meds and meds so that she can sleep. Now the Dr.'s are saying that they don't know what is it. She still has copper levels in her liver. The copper level was 200 but now is in the 100 and I was told that it is suppose to be 40. The have sent for test to see if she has Wilson's disease and have not received the results yet. She has seen several Dr.'s from the same department, but the Dr.'s are not communicating with each other. Her Mother is frantic about her daughter's health. What else can be done and is there something the Dr.'s are missing. Please HELP!!!
