Cow's Milk

Patient

Q: My daughter is now 12 months old. I had given her whole milk for 5 days and she had developed severe constipation due to the whole milk. I took her off it and put her back on her formula (she was fine immediatly after(she was on enfamil gentlease which had soy vs lactose)) i know it is rare for an infant to have a lactose intolerance. My pediatrician now recommends i give her 2% milk instead of whole milk and see how she does on it. I know the AAP says that from 1-2 years of age they should only be on whole milk. I would like a second opinion if this is okay for my child developmently?
