Depressor muscle cut during Rhinoplasty

Q: 8 weeks ago I had open rhinoplasty, septoplasty, nose narrowing (so bones were broken), tip reshaping and my dr. cut my depressor muscle because my nose would go down when I smile. I am of course swollen and will be for the next year, the thing I am worried about is my smile. My lip only goes up half as much as it did before. I was told this part would be back to normal in 3-4 weeks, the tip would take up to a year. Will this return to normal? I was told the depressor was a nose muscle not a smile muscle and my smile wouldn't be affected. I'm still am numb around my comulla and thought maybe that was the cause. Is this the way it's going to be or should I expect it to get better?
