Patient : I read that Simvastatin may cause diabetes. I was switched from Lopressor, which I had been taking for about 15 years, to Simvastatin about one year ago because Simvastatin is available in a less expensive generic form, and now I have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. If my diabetes is caused by the Simvastatin, would it be reversed if I stopped taking the drug?
