Q: My only Question is: In medical management of a patient in DKA how often are arterial blood gases monitored?

Doctor

A:   Hi
DKA is a medical emergency, patient should be treated in ICU. IV fluids, insulin and electrolyte management is the main part of the treatment. ABG should be monitored as per requirement from every fourly to twice daily. In ABG -PH, Po2, co2, hco3 and electrolytes are measured
