Patient : For the last 8-9 years I have been experiencing what my doctor and neurologist say are aura migraines without pain triggered only my menstration. However, I don't have troubles with my vision, I have ringing in my ears, followed by flu symptoms, followed by exhaustion, out of breath, etc. These symptoms come with my menstral cycle and have lasted as long as 31 days. They started after I had my last child at the age of 34 I went back on birth control pills (Jasmine) and started getting ringing in my ears and then headaches (normal ones, but wouldn't go away with tylenol, etc) and then flu-like symptoms and exhaustion. I have had MRI's etc, to rule out tumors and such, tried hormone therapy through a pharmisist, and taken more abortive meds perscribed by my neurologist than I would care to. Some maybe lessened symptoms, but these migraines continue to come every month like clock work. I hate taking meds and don't want to treat symptoms - I want to find the cause. Do you have any other suggestions for me to try? It is hard having flu-like symptoms for nearly two weeks every month!
