Do I have whooping cough or the flu?

Q: There's whooping cough and the flu going around my school, and over the weekend I got what I thought was a cold. Friday, I began to get a lot of sinus pain, nasal congestion, and a sore throat, Saturday, I had a lot of aching and more nasal congestion, and on Sunday I had a sore throat again. I thought I was getting better, but I now I'm continuing to cough. There's phlegm in the back of my throat and that's why I'm coughing, but I'm concerned that the mucus is from some sort of virus.

Symptoms:  Coughing, nasal congestion
