Does bone healing make you burn fat?

Patient

Q: Dear doctors,

One month ago i've broken my patella in half and i had a surgery procedure to fix it. Now i'm almost healed, but i've noticed that i've lost a lot of fat even if i'm eating abundantly.

My question is just a curiosity, does the bone healing process burn so much energy to justify my weight loss? If yes why?

Symptoms:  Broken bones, weight loss
