Dog in my sons bed

Patient

Q: I have a 6 year old son who constantly moves around in the bed. We have allowed our two labs who are trained to stay at the end of the bed sleep in his bed. He has now stayed in his own bed for 5 months now . His doctor recently said having the dogs in the bed is not recommended since it will cause him to have a restless night . Our son has always been a restless sleeper since birth. Can Having the dog in the bed contribute to the restless or is it helping?
