Question:

Driving after laparoscopic gallbladder surgery

Dear Ask The Doctor:
How soon after laparoscopic gallbladder surgery will I be able to drive??

Answer:

One of the main advantages of laparoscopic surgery is the relatively short recovery time when compared to open surgery. You should be able to drive and perform other activities which require minimal physical effort within 2-4 days after surgery.
