DVT, Heart, or what?

Patient : Recently, though I usually power walk 2 to 3 miles a day, 3 to 4 times a week, last Saturday, I developed pretty extreme shortness of breath after only one quarter mile and had to stop. Also, a pain appeared in my left calf that feels like the soreness you get when you work out a muscle that hasn't been used much in a while. Testing myself, I did a short 1 minute powerwalk that got my heart rate up to 120 bpm, and after 5 minutes, my heart rate was down to 77 bpm. No chest pain, no leg swelling, no redness, no excess heat. Blood pressusre is 122 over 78, and bad cholesterol is the lowest my doc had ever seen for someone my age. Any ideas? Best guess?
