Effect of extra dose of Ramipril

Patient

Q: I take Ramipril 5mg everyday morning as per doctor's prescription. But by mistake I took another 5mg at night too. Will this have any adverse effect?

Symptoms:  Nil
Doctor

A:   Hi
Thank you for the question.

Ramipril is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) or congestive heart failure, and to improve survival after a heart attack.

Overdose can cause:
-Blurred vision
-confusion
-dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
-sweating
-unusual tiredness or weakness.

If any of these symptoms develop please seek immediate medical attention. I hope this will help you. Take care.
