Emergency contraception and pregnancy

Patient: Hi,i had my periods couple of days ago two days later i had unprotected sex and the following day also then i decided to take the morning pill,my question is can the pill work or should i expect to be pregnant?

Doctor: Morning pill is effective if taken within 72 hours of the unprotected sex. It is most effective when taken within 24 hou rs of the unprotected sex. So if you have taken the pill within the maximum of 72 hours of the last  sexual contact you may be safe.
