Patient :Exactly a week ago I was admitted into hospital with a 4.5 inch long self-inflicted laceration on my inner left forearm deep enough to expose muscle. A week later I have removed all 24 stitches and re-opened the wound, though only into the fat layer with no muscle exposed. I have a history of removing stitches and temporary wound sealants, along with a history of severe depression and self mutilation. What should I do? Would I be admitted for psychiatric treatment if I went to hospital for treatment?
