Patient : I recently went to a new doctor and told him about the troubles I have been having my entire life. I always get a fever about once a month. Sometimes these fevers are accompanied by congestion, sore throat, etc. But mostly, they are just high fevers and in some cases they get very high 103 and higher and I go to the ER and get IV fluids. Sometimes I have abdominal pain and chest pain, however a previous doctor diagnosed me with costochondritis for that. How would one go about testing for this? Is it a genetic problem?
